BORN safety and sustainability assessment

Objectives:
– to understand and evaluate the life cycle environmental performance of the innovative BORN biobased plastic technologies, compared to current conventional practices (e.g. fossil based plastic) by apply cutting edge environmental Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) plus additional metrics from the SPHERE framework, overall called sustainability assessment:
-to guide the development of the BORN solutions towards more sustainable solutions,
-to benchmark the individual innovations against business-as-usual practices
-to help future suppliers and customers make more informed decisions.
